Relief Marquette for monumental scale .
The mental and physical Remnants of what is left long after natural disasters have past. I created this piece of found objects which includes wire netting, wood scraps resembling broken telephone poles. It was created during events unfolding in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina . The levees broke so I flooded the relief Marquette with plaster adding a found round wooden ball covered in wire netting which seemed to resemble the superdome. I added small strips of found copper that reminded me of pennies, the poor the week the ones society seems to ignore until they are forced too. I embedded a copper rectangle to represent the America governments unfair treatment people so to honor the people who I believe to be victims of a foreseen catastrophe.
